	&lt;p&gt;1) different volume levels on different tv channels, especially ads being *much* louder than ther shows&lt;/p&gt;
	&lt;p&gt;2) live music too loud at small events. in a small room with a live band, there is really no need for further amplificiation&lt;/p&gt;
	&lt;p&gt;3) the trend to louder music. I was hearing on the radio that in the last five or so years there has been a big trend in recording studios to making songs much louder, throughout the entire song. so instead of having a wide range of volumes, everything is at the high end, which really just makes it poorer quality and harder to listen to
