Abandoned by Canada: Torture Surviver Speaks Out

I attended Abandoned by Canada: Torture Surviver Speaks Out tonight, run by WPIRG and AWOL. The depressing part of of it all is that not only did Canada, a supposedly decent country, violate its own basic laws, not just in turning a blind eye, but in initiating torture (by proxy in Syria, etc.), but that it continued to do it when it realized those involved were innocent, that they continue to to defend this action, suppress information about it, and that is likely continuing today.

state of the union

I’m watching the State of the Union now. After rambling on about how America is great for a minute or so, his very first words were “on september 11…”. omg is about all I can say to that. one of his first sentences: “dictatorships harbour terrorists” - is that generally true?

I also likes how he points fingers at countries. “these guys are bad”, basically. argh, why do I even watch these anymore…

WoW.com Forums -> I played WoW, I became a terrorist (story!)

please tell me I’m not the only that thinks terrorism prevention can be improved without insanity such as the following?

Suggestion to terrorists

If you want to enact positive change, work with the millions of Americans that disagree with their government. Same goes for other countries.

Bombing a tourist spot in the middle east only kills innocent citizens of that country and of others, some/all of which may be on your side. And it kills the tourism industry, which is a major contributor to the economies of some middle eastern countries, and provides that salaries that many poor people depend on.
