{"id":839,"date":"2007-03-30T08:34:48","date_gmt":"2007-03-30T15:34:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/faganm.com\/blog\/2007\/03\/30\/839\/"},"modified":"2007-09-06T14:17:44","modified_gmt":"2007-09-06T21:17:44","slug":"imprint-online-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faganm.com\/blog\/2007\/03\/30\/839\/","title":{"rendered":"Greening businesses, one step at a time"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/imprint.uwaterloo.ca\/mambo\/index.php?option=com_content&#038;task=view&#038;id=1349&#038;Itemid=59\">Greening businesses, one step at a time<\/a> &#8211; somehow I got dragged into writing an article for my campus paper this week about an event (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fes.uwaterloo.ca\/environment_business\/conference\/\">Environment and Business conference<\/a>) I was attending.<\/p>\n<p>Anyhow, writing for a newspaper just felt really wierd, almost like going back in time ;-). I&#8217;m much more accustomed to my blogging style (obviously). The article was supposed to be a fixed length, of course, which just feels funny. Writing from a semi-neutral tone was the hardest part, I&#8217;m so used to using &#8220;I&#8221;&#8230; it just seems so drab otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>Then I submit the article to the editor. &#8220;So, I guess you edit it and send it back to me?&#8221; I asked na\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00afvely. Of course not, they just make their changes, then publish it, with my name on it of course. Naturally I&#8217;m not hugely in favour of the changes, as what person likes their writing modified? My biggest complaint?
