My response is that actually I only keep up with less than one percent of what goes on, and doing so actually takes a fair effort.<\/p>\n<p>I get my information several ways. People telling me, looking at posters on campus (sadly, lots of things are only available in this form), and many online sources. Most of these I won&#8217;t be reading much longer. My list is of coursed biased towards my interests and my program.<\/p>\n<p>From the web, I get a lot in my newsreader, a few things through my calendar program, a number of things through email newsletters, and an increasing number of things through Facebook groups. In that order,<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sites in my newsreader<\/strong> at the moment (I have added and removed many over the last five years), grouped but not specifically ordered.<\/p>\n<p>general UW news<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bulletin.uwaterloo.ca\/\">The Daily Bulletin<\/a> is the single best source of news at UW. It also isn&#8217;t going away, Chris has been editing it since 1993. Although it has an RSS feed today, it is unfortunately still published newspaper-style, making it slightly difficult to read over quickly.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/atuw.ca\/\">@UW<\/a> is a recent UW blog<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feds.ca\">Federation of Students<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pulse.feds.ca\/event\/feed\">fedsPULSE &#8211; Events Feed<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pulse.feds.ca\/news\">http:\/\/pulse.feds.ca\/news\/feed<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/imprint.uwaterloo.ca\">Imprint<\/a>, the student newspaper, at least publishes most (but not all) online. It is also annoying to get flooded with all the news stories at once, but that&#8217;s what you get with classic publishing<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lib.uwaterloo.ca\/newsatlib\/\">news @ your library<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/onewaterloo.uwaterloo.ca\/\">One Waterloo Campaign<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/waterloo.quadspot.com\/\">quadspot &#187; waterloo &#187; all categories<\/a> &#8211; this has about as much spam as content, and is mostly useless<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/render.uwaterloo.ca\">Render<\/a> &#8211; UW art gallery<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/smarts.uwaterloo.ca\">smARTS<\/a> is Arts student life stuff, but the RSS feed is basically empty<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/newsrelease.uwaterloo.ca\/news\/\">University of Waterloo News Releases<\/a> &#8211; reading this is a combination of learning things and seeing how silly PR is (but that is a story for another day)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/community.livejournal.com\/uwaterloo\/\">UW Community -livejournal<\/a> &#8211; practically the only general student forum anyone uses; quite useful<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/onewaterloo.uwaterloo.ca\/\">UW Diversity Awareness Campaign<\/a> &#8211; not sure if this is over or coming back next year<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/uwaterloo.ewb.ca\">Engineers Without Borders &#8211; University of Waterloo<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/ghcoop.blogspot.com\/\">Grand House Blog<\/a> &#8211; about the sustainable coop for some students in architecture. not sure if the blog is still being updated<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/envblogs.uwaterloo.ca\/blogs\">News and events, Faculty of Environmental Studies<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/opinion.uwaterloo.ca\/\">UW Opinion<\/a> was intended as a replacement to letters to the editor in the old UW Gazette. not used much, but still useful<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/warriorweekends.uwaterloo.ca\/\">UW Warrior Weekends<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/uwenet.blogspot.com\/\">UWENet News<\/a> &#8211; probably dead now, a UW green blog<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwstudent.org\/news\">uwstudent.org News<\/a> &#8211; old student blog, essentially dead<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.graphics.uwaterloo.ca\">What&#8217;s New at Graphics<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/envblogs.uwaterloo.ca\/blogs\/webs\">Waterloo Environment and Business Students<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/video.google.com\/videosearch?q=%22university+of+waterloo%22+%7C+uwaterloo+%7C+%22u+of+waterloo%22&amp;so=1&amp;num=20\">Google Video &#8211;
